Jack Pine Environmental is owned and operated by Christopher Duits, a professional agrologist (Ontario Institute of Agrologists) and environmental scientist with 9 years of professional experience in a variety of environmental disciplines.

Chris is familiar with both provincial and federal environmental regulations and has worked on projects in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He provides a range of experience in environmental science and conducting various aspects of project work for road, pipeline, and electrical transmission projects throughout Central and western Canada, including soil science, Post-Construction Reclamation Assessments (PCRA)/Post-Construction Environmental Monitoring (PCEM), weed surveys, and Environmental Field Report assessments. Chris also has extensive experience in environmental impact studies (EISs), environmental construction monitoring, soil classification, land and wetland evaluation studies, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).

Chris has experience both managing and coordinating projects large and small. He has also participated in Traditional Land Use studies, soil research, long-term reclamation monitoring and a number of soil and water sampling projects. Chris provides excellent technical writing and research skills and has been involved in writing numerous Environmental Screening Reports for Parks Canada, as well as assisting with Environmental Protection Plans and Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessments. His educational background has provided him with a strong understanding of soils, agrology, vegetation, geomorphology and geology.

Chris assembles and works with a team of professionals as needed to customize each project to the needs of the client.  This includes GIS professionals, aquatic specialists, botanists, biologists, pedologists and others as required.
